When spring arrives, dandelion flowers paint the fields in vibrant yellow.
The English name "Dandelion" is derived from a French phrase meaning "lion's tooth," as the plant's jagged leaves are said to resemble a lion's fangs.

The flower possesses a highly evolved structure; it opens in the morning and closes in the evening.
After blooming, the stem initially collapses, only to rise again a few days later—stretching even taller than before—to produce seeds topped with fluffy white down.
