Passion flower in polyester resin

The specimen is a passion flower captured in the polyester resin.

The plant is a perennial vine, which clings to other objects with its tendrils to grow taller.There are extensive variations of the plant, with more than 500 subspecies recognized under the passion flower genus.

As the name indicates, the flower signifies the Passion of Jesus Christ.

People saw the image of crucified Jesus in the tip of the pistil and the halo radiating from Jesus in the petals.

Various episodes go with the unique flower, as it once served as a symbol of Christian missions.

Passion flowers have such a unique form, but their blossoms only last for a very short while.
