Consolida ajacis is an essential flower of early summer.
It is native to southern Europe. Its Japanese name is Chidori-sou, which comes from the fact that the shape of the flower resembles a flying plover.

This particular specimen appears to be white, but it has a slightly creamy hue. The enclosed petals are translucent, making it look as if it is adorned with lace or a veil. The appearance changes depending on the background color, so it's hard to decide where to place it.
